IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON CSS ACTIVITIES

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have altered our practices and procedures for the foreseeable future. Notably:

  • All players should wear masks or other approved face coverings at all CSS training sessions and competitions, when not actively participating. Players are not required to wear masks during actual practice time and during games, unless the event of facility requires it. CSS coaches should be masked at all times.
    • Masks should be worn when coming into the building and until the player enters the court itself. Masks should be worn again when the practice or game ends and remain on until the player has left the building.
  • All coaches should wear masks or other approved face coverings at all times, including while coaching. A temporary exception will be made if the coach is clearly more than 10 feet away from the nearest player and must remove the mask temporarily to deliver instruction.
  • TRAVEL... CSS will continue to travel to tournaments outside of the Lincoln and Omaha metro areas. However, we will NOT travel as a group by van or stay in shared hotel rooms as we typically do. Players will be parent-responsibility at all tournaments.
    • If a player's family cannot attend the tournament, the club will work with the family to ensure that the player has a suitable and safe opportunity to still attend and participate through a modified host-parent strategy.
    • This may change as local and destination Directed Health Measures continue to evolve. We all would like to return to a sense of normalcy.

All tryout sessions are held at the LSF Sports Complex (formerly Abbott), located at 7600 N 70th, Lincoln, NE.

Each tryout includes a parent meeting immediately following for all selected players.

Cornhusker Shooting Stars provides the opportunity for youth in Lincoln, NE, and surrounding areas to develop their basketball skills by promoting team work, sportsmanship, and character building. Please browse the given information to determine if CSS could be a good fit for you.
