About Us

The Cornhusker Shooting Stars teams did very well during the 2006 summer.

The record for the Bison Select team (High School) was 41-9. with a 4th place finish out of 88 teams at the Adidas Showtime National Championships in Atlanta, GA, 21st out of 132 teams at Tournament of Champions in Atlanta, GA. 5th place at adidas Mid American Championships in Minneapolis, MN, 4th place finish at adidas Finale: Battle on the Plains in Lincoln. 3rd place finish at adidas Best of Midwest in Chicago, Il and Championships is Lincoln, NE, Derby. KS, and Salina, KS.


The Judds/Apollo Steel Select team (High School) compiled a 32-15 record. Playing up in U17 for all tournaments, the team made up of all freshman and Sophomores continued to make a name for themselves. Finishing 21st out of 32, and 25th out of 64, at the two Atlanta adidas tournaments. 4th place in Chicago, consolation runner ups in Minneapolis, 5th at adidas Lincoln. They also finished as runners up in Lincoln, and 3rd in Salina, and Derby, KS.


The 5th grade Cornhusker Shooting Stars team finished the summer with a 6th place during the MAYB Summer Kick-Off tournament (Wichita, KS), 1st place finish at the MAYB Derby (KS), 2nd place finish in the 6th Grade division at CSS MAYB Lincoln (NE) and 6th place finish at MAYB Nationals (Stillwater, OK).


The 6th grade Cornhusker Shooting Stars team finished the summer with a 5th place finish at the MAYB Summer Kick-Off tournament (Wichita, KS), 1st place finish in the MAYB Derby (KS), 1st in the 7th Grade Division at the CSS MAYB Lincoln (NE), 4th in the 8th grade division at Cornhusker State Games (Lincoln, NE). They also placed 7th in the 8th grade division of the adidas Best of Midwest in Chicago, IL and 6th place finish at MAYB Nationals (Stillwater, OK),


The 7th grade Cornhusker Shooting Stars team wrapped up their season with a 3rd at AAU Great Lakes (Menemonie, WI), 1st place finish at the MAYB Summer Kick-Off Tournament (Wichita, KS), 1st in the 8th grade division in the MAYB Derby (KS), 2nd in the 8th grade division in the CSS MAYB Lincoln (NE), 3rd in the adidas Best of the Midwest (Chicago, IL). They also placed eight in the 15U Division of the adidas Finale: Battle on the Plains (Lincoln, NE) and 3rd place in the MAYB National tournament (Stillwater, OK). The 7th grade team finished the summer with a record of 32-5.


The 8th grade Cornhusker Shooting Stars team wrapped up their season with a 5th place finish at MAYB Nationals (Stillwater, OK). The 8th grade Stars team played up in the 15&under division in the rest of their tournaments and finished- 1st- CSS Lincoln, NE (9/10th), 2nd MAYB Derby, KS (9/10), 3rd adidas Finale: Battle on the Plains (Lincoln, NE), 5th AAU Great Lakes (Menemonie, WI), 5th adidas 15U Mid American Championships (Minneapolis, MN) , 5th adidas 15U Best of Midwest (Chicago, IL), 9th MAYB Kickoff 9th/10th (Wichita, KS) and finished the summer at 36-11 against older competition.


The New 6th grade boys team had an amazing summer as well. They finished 1st in the 7th grade division of Lincoln MAYB CSS, Consolation Champs in Hays, KS (8th grade), 4th at Cornhusker State Games (8th grade), and finished with an 8-1 record, and 9th place out of 48 team at MAYB Nationals in Wichita, KS .



The Cornhusker Shooting Stars program currently has 64 female athletes participating; these athletes represent 31 communities in the state of Nebraska. These communities are: Lincoln, Omaha, Gretna, Elkhorn, Waverly, Wahoo, Weston, Malcolm, Neligh, Exeter, Milligan, Crete, Eagle, Elmwood, Murdock, Kearney,Columbus, Seward, East Butler, Beaver City,Geneva, Milford,Chadron, Mead, Ashland, Greenwood, Superior, Overton, Pleasanton, Albion, and Hastings


The Cornhusker Shooting Stars also have 2 players representing Sargent Bluffs, IA, 1 from Missouri Valley, IA, Ida Grove, IA, and onefrom Belleville, KS.


The new Cornhusker Shooting Stars boys team which was made up of 12 players represented these following communitites: Lincoln, Milford, Ravenna, Hastings, Tilden, and Elkhorn.
